Founded in 2024, Lorraine understands that leaving your furry friend behind while you head off on a holiday can be an incredibly nerve-wracking experience. Having faced this very challenge with her two beloved dogs, Ted and Bob, she felt a calling to create a space that mirrors the same love and attention she pours into her own pets. At Paws & Claws, every single dog will be treated as part of the family — no request is too big or small! If your pup only eats when hand-fed, rest assured, they will be lovingly hand-fed. If they sleep best snuggled up in bed, then that’s where they’ll be! Our no crate, no kennel policy means your dog will enjoy all the comforts of home; they’ll only be crated at your request or we can provide one as a safe space they can retreat to when they need a quiet moment.
At Paws & Claws, we believe that with the right love, enrichment, and exercise, dogs bring boundless joy to our lives. That’s why each pooch is exercised twice a day, whether it’s a fun-filled romp in the park or a delightful stroll through the woods. They’ll have the chance to burn off energy with different exercise routes (evening walk route is time of year dependent on light and may revert to pavement walks) - rest assured everyone is included - if your dog is not good off a lead, they can be catered for with a long line!
We maintain a consistent feeding routine, with every dog enjoying their meals separately to ensure a safe and stress-free dining experience. At home, there are cozy corners and comfy beds for your pet to relax in if they need their own space. We also take the time to closely match and board dogs based on their temperament, ensuring a fantastic stay for everyone.
The safety and well-being of your dog — and our dear Ted and Bob — are our top priorities. If, for any reason, we need to decline a boarding request, please know it’s out of love and concern for everyone’s safety. We simply want to create a happy, secure environment for all!

Growing up, our household was always filled with a variety of animals. My family bred Dobermans and miniature Yorkshire Terriers, which created cherished memories of being surrounded by puppies during my childhood.
Throughout my life, I have owned and cared for a wide range of animals. I’ve also looked after friends’ and family members’ pets during emergencies and vacations. From my personal experiences and the associated worries, I understand how challenging it can be to find someone trustworthy to care for your beloved companion while you are away.
I am dedicated to providing the highest level of welfare for your pet, as well as for my own two dogs, Ted and Bob. I want you to feel completely at ease when leaving your pet, so I encourage pre-departure meet and greet sessions as often as necessary to ensure you are confident that your furry friend will be happy and well cared for.
